Take Control with Easy eFiling Order Cancellations

Managing court filings just got easier for legal professionals using Tyler-integrated courts. Legal Document Server has introduced a powerful new feature that allows you to cancel eFiling orders before they’re opened by the clerk—no emails, phone calls, or support tickets needed.

This streamlined process gives both you and your clients more flexibility, faster control, and fewer delays when court orders need to be withdrawn or updated.

Why This Matters

Delays in court processing can be costly and frustrating—especially when you’re trying to cancel or revise an order. With this new update, Legal Document Server helps you:

  • Avoid manual intervention and save time for both your team and your clients

  • Reduce filing errors or confusion by withdrawing filings before court clerks process them

  • Stay compliant with ever-changing court rules and case deadlines

  • Improve your user experience by making cancellations quick and seamless

Who Can Use This Feature?

The new cancellation option is available for all:

  • Operations portal users (legal support staff, filing administrators)

  • Customer portal users (law firms, attorneys, admins)

This applies specifically to Tyler-integrated courts, which includes many courts across California and beyond that use Tyler Technologies’ eFiling infrastructure.

How to Cancel an eFiling Order (Customer Portal)

  1. Go to “Pending Orders” and find the relevant case.

  2. Look for the red “X” in the “Action” column. If visible, the order is eligible for cancellation.

  3. Click the red “X” and confirm when prompted.

Note: If the clerk has already opened the order or if the court is not Tyler-integrated, the cancellation option will not appear.

How to Cancel an Order (Operations Portal)

  1. Go to the Orders section and select the Pending Orders tab.

  2. Open the desired order. If eligible, a “Cancel Order” button will appear near the top.

  3. Click “Cancel Order” and confirm the cancellation.

Again, if the order has been opened by the clerk or is from a non-Tyler court, cancellation will be unavailable.

What Happens After You Cancel?

  • The order is immediately canceled with both the court and within the Legal Document Server portal

  • A status note is automatically added with the user’s name and confirmation of the cancellation

  • No additional action is required—you’re done in just a few clicks
