The Los Angeles Superior Court, County of Los Angeles has implemented mandatory Electronic Filing (eFile) for all Civil and Family Law cases. This change can be challenging for some, but the reality is that this change is for the better.

eFiling allows everyone to submit court filings from the comfort of their own home. Users are no longer at the mercy of a courier to physically deliver their documents before the courts close their doors at 4pm. Anyone can eFile until 11:59pm and have their documents considered as received as the same day. Not only does eFiling provide more flexibility, but it also provides safety during these challenging times of the pandemic.

In order to get started, you must select an authorized Electronic Filing Service Provider. Legal Document Server provides a simple platform for users to submit their orders seamlessly. The following is a step-by-step guide on how to eFile:

  1. Create an account
  2. Sign-in and select Place Order
  3. Select eFiling and enter the case information
  4. Upload your file and title your document(s)
  5. Review & submit!

All users will receive an order confirmation as soon as the order has been submitted. The documents are directly sent to the court and the user will receive one of two emails (ACCEPTED or REJECTED). If the document is accepted, you will be provided with a conformed copy of your filing. If it is rejected, you will receive a reason as to why it was rejected.
