Finalizing and submitting court filings at the last minute is more common than not in litigation, to such a degree that on-demand support is a must for any would-be attorney service provider. Unfortunately, courts are not concerned with the constraints of a litigator, and they don’t provide any flexibility as to when they close their doors. This is quite the predicament for legal practitioners, where the usual “end of the day” comes in the mid-afternoon.

The introduction and gradual adoption of Electronic Filing (E-Filing) has curtailed this issue to a certain extent. Now that several California Superior Courts accept electronic filings through certified EFSP’s (Electronic Filing Service Provider), the deadline for a filing to be considered “same day” has been extended to 11:59 PM at these courts. Legal Document Server is currently a court approved EFSP in 28 counties and counting. Any E-Filings submitted to these courts will be considered “same day” if it is submitted by 11:59 PM.

However, physical court filing remains a pain for many firms. Beholden to 4:00 PM court closures, most attorney service providers handicap their customers with hard court filing deadlines ranging from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. At Legal Document Server, we feel that “last minute” should never mean “early afternoon”. When we receive an order with the service level “On-Demand”, we do everything in our power to get it filed that day regardless of when it was submitted. We understand that last minute deadlines are intertwined with litigation.

The team at LDS strives to exceed our customers’ expectations for all the services we provide. If you want to know more about the potential benefits and flexible court filing deadlines that we offer, please reach out to us at (800) 687-5003 or su*****@le*****************.com.
